i.e. The trio burying the hatchet after everything that was boiling up beneath the surface came to a head. They were also pretty not shaken up after the shootout. Wtf? And Piper similarly backing out of her plans after what didn't seem like a particularly adverse experience at the temple (and you would think she would have foreseen a lot of what were ultimately dealbreakers for her).. even though I can absolutely see kids raised with privilege having a false idea of what it would be like to throw it all away for a wholesome traditional eastern experience and coming to a similar realization about their attachment to first world amenities. Or did she just get the ick after inspiring Locklan to follow her?

I'm torn between whether it's bad writing or just an accurate depiction of ordinary phenomena between people.

Because, funny enough, sometimes a good night's rest has a way of paving over things allowing for those vicious cycle relationships to perpetuate.

So we're left wondering whether Mike White is making some relatable social commentary or just didn't have anything interesting lined up for certain characters.

To his credit, the big developments that did occur were engaging and certainly hit.
