"Mark Carney: You Can’t Lead a Country You’re Not Honest With.
Another day, another headline — this time, Carney claims he’s “never heard of” a pro-Beijing group, even though they posted a photo of him at a meeting with their leadership.
But this isn’t an isolated slip — it’s a pattern:
1. Brookfield Moves to New York — and He Downplays It.
As Vice Chair of Brookfield Asset Management, Carney was part of the leadership when the company quietly moved its headquarters from Toronto to New York. He’s barely acknowledged the move — and hasn’t answered why one of Canada’s largest companies left under his watch.
2. No Financial Disclosure.
Unlike every Member of Parliament, Carney has never disclosed his financial holdings, assets, or foreign income. For someone seeking to be Prime Minister, that’s unacceptable. What does he own? Where are his investments? Who stands to benefit?
3. Foreign Interference Denials, but Still No Registry.
He now denies knowing a group with pro-Beijing ties — but this comes as the Liberal government continues to refuse to implement a foreign agent registry. Canada remains one of the only Western democracies without one. Why are they afraid of transparency?
Canadians aren’t fooled.
Before asking to lead 40 million people, maybe Carney should have run as an MP, where his record — business, financial, and foreign — could be properly scrutinized.
No more secrets. No more dodging. No more insider privilege.
If you want to lead this country, start by being honest."
