In the original C-21 debate polling suggested that 70% of people were in favour of the “assault-style” weapons ban. Gun Control is a winning issue.

I don’t understand how anyone can be against a buy back program. It doesn’t change the laws around what is and isn’t a legal firearm and provides a way of legal disposal for those who want to be compliant. Essentially if you are against the restrictions you can choose not to participate.
I think the overall package of measures is very reasonable and does not further restrict firearms ownership from today.
