Because The Sun, Rebel, Western Standard, True North etc would still be there. This is what happens when you let BS companies pretend to be journalists. I know regulation of the press is all a big no-no in a democracy, but I also strongly feel that this has gone on far too long, and we are just starting to witness the damage of it.
We need the CRTC or someone to actual license media organizations, and they lose their license due to repeated improprieties. Once unlicensed, they lose standard media access, and are not permitted to attend government press events. Only then would media organizations be able to come together to stop this. But nobody cares, so these lying grifters end up with far more power than any respectable democracy should give them.
