Yup. He's under NHL contract, so he can play NHL games at any time, and AHL games after his CHL club is eliminated.

Bennett pretty much made the team in training camp but spent most of the year injured. Parekh was nowhere near ready to make the team in training camp.
Also, Bennett was playing a much easier position. If he blew an assignment, he had the defencemen to cover for him. Parekh not only can't afford to blow assignments, he's expected to help cover for forwards who blow theirs. Hard to do when everyone is ramped up for the playoffs and you've never even played pro.
For clarity, I think Parekh should get some games, and I don't think they should wait until they're eliminated to put him in. But I can't imagine putting him in without at least one practice.
