It just seems kind of dumb. Is it so the CHL protects their financial investment by making it more difficult to pry away players? If so, NHL teams should just be allowed to pay them out because it should be what's best for the player's development. If he is allowed to play in the AHL now just because Saginaw is done, it can't be about health and safety.
I don't think Parekh has much more to learn in junior, so hopefully he is ready for the NHL.
