Are you in SE Calgary? I am pretty sure I have what you need and I will give it to you. Otherwise, the advice above is solid. The biggest issue is don't get one too big or heavy. As long as he can swing it 'fast' meaning without any lag to get the swing started you are good to go. He will outgrow this bat by next year so basic is the way to go. Walmart/CT may have a good starter one as well.
