Schneider hitting rewind on his comments from last season about the "hits will eventually come" and "good at bat, so close", today.
I'll rewind to my comments too from a year ago; I truly think any other manager in baseball doesn't make it out of last season, given the last couple years of results, or hitting, or whatever, take your pick.
Nevermind the Jays payroll and expectations of a country.
Not that he's necessarily a bad manager but at some point with the same results on the field as a team and individually and same lack of production, there needs to be a new voice and a fresh change...new hitting coach etc isn't enough.
Message or delivery gets stale and it has to have by now to those guys...and a guy new to the team like Santander is getting pulled down too so this isn't all on the players or talent physically, but it some mental block with the approach or whatever, that's affecting the hitters in the team now going on over 2 seasons.
That said, theory still holds there if Schenider goes, it's one less layer for the blame meaning the GM and President have the spotlight get brighter on them in season...which IMO is why he's been employed still after two poor seasons where no expectations were not anywhere close to met.
