Who is worrying?
I assume this is a plan that the management group would be discussing regularly about. No decision would be made in a vacuum.
Acquiring and developing prospects is good and all but if they never get real chances at the NHL roster then what's the point? Before we go and acquire a roster player to play D a decision should be made about retaining and using the players in the system and how to give them an On Ramp to graduate.
In the past, the Flames would go get vets and say that the prospects need to outplay the vets to get a spot, but that never felt honest because the vet was always given a super long leash and we never really saw the prospects get a real chance. Based on what Conroy has said, I am hopeful that this iteration of the team would leave spots open for the prospects... and not just undeniable prospects like Parekh.
