Gordie Howe is the only player in history to score over 40 goals well past his prime at the age of 40 (44 goals). Maybe Ovi will do another 40+ goal next season!

Imagine the NHL goal record if Howe had wrist surgery instead of retiring for two years, then getting his wrist fixed then playing in the WHA for six years. Guy came back to the NHL at 51 years old and popped 15 more.
I do wonder if Ovechkin can play for another 5 years. The speed isn't there but that doesn't doesn't go and as long as he can stay physical and recover I think we'll see him well into his 40s
