Andrew Lawton was parachuted into a traditionally CPC safe riding as a reward for being a loyal Maple MAGA soldier. He is the man who wrote the Poillievre biography. Much like Aaron Gunn he is someone who should be removed. He won't be because he is likely to win his riding and if he was removed this late it could endanger that.
The CPC have no issue removing candidates from ridings they stood no chance in. They will protect candidates, even if they're significantly worse than those already removed, in winnable ridings.
