I think the only thing the Flames could use to entice Chicago to trade their pick would be Dustin Wolf. The Hawks are really eager to enter the next phase of their rebuild and may want a young star goalie, something that is a bit of a weakness for them at the moment, more than they want another 18 year old prospect.
That's obviously not on the table as while it might fill one hole for the Flames (getting that elusive future #1 center), you gamble leaving a hole in net for who knows how long.
But I mean, if people really want to tank for a chance at McKenna and Dupont in 2026 and 2027, it what would have to happen because the team is not tanking with Wolf. Then we can use thoughts and prayers to hope Sergeev or Zarubin pan out into decent NHLers.
I am not advocating for anything, but it's fun to think about from a fantasy GM perspective.
