How about, if a player who was on LTIR on opening day is not off LTIR by trade deadline, they are ineligible for the playoffs.

Don't have to do any calculations for the playoffs, just a simple yes, or no on if someone is eligable.

Edit: Player must also appear in at least 1 game in the season before going on LTIR, this is to prevent xx player being "on the roster", but in the press box, and then going on LTIR.
