I was reading the Trivia for TNG Season 1 Episode 10 - Haven.
It's the one where Troy is supposed to marry some rando, she gets a flower that changes color and oh yeah, a plague ship shows up. First appearance of Lwaxana Troy.
ANYWAY - Armin Shimerman (Quark) is in it. It was filmed 3rd in the series, so the filming of it predated his appearance as a Ferengi in "Last Outpost" (which aired first).
He was employed at the time as a recurring character on the TV Show Beauty and Beast. He was a massive Star Trek fan and badgered his agent non stop to get him on the show.
He got cast in the "face in a box" that delivers the marriage announcement. It was uncredited. He's super exicted for it (all set to "beam up") and his agent calls to say there is a scheduling conflict and Beauty and the Beast needs him on the same day.
He basically tells his agent to stuff it, and goes to play the face in the box. His agent flips out. He fires his agent.
Then gets cast in The Last Outpost.
Then 6 years later as Quark.
