That is nice and all, but he needs to play not just 1 game. Other teams are playing their players. He got a big deal for a reason for a 3rd round pick. 1st round picks don't get different coaching and training.

Maybe - it's a big jump and it takes time.
Remember these college guys have never even played an NHL pre-season game, let alone a regular season game.
Hopefully he shows really well in practice and gets into a game or two, but this isn't a Gaudreau or Makar level of talent that's going to jump in and make a big impact day 1. He's probably going to need some AHL time.
