The rest of this season is a 100% complete disassociation for me in terms of consequences. I would be shocked at this point if they make the playoffs, and I would be just as shocked if they drop into the bottom 10. The worst possible outcome is the most likely at this point statistically. I'm over it as I have just accepted it. It is what it is, period. Rest of this season I will just enjoy the games as I know by the middle of summer I will already be starving for even a small nugget of news regarding this team. So, I will just fill-up on Flames hockey while there is still Flames hockey, and not worry about what will happen.
Next year's draft has a generational player. My hope is that Conroy further kicks out some legs on this team, and puts this organization in contention with drafting him. Why can't Calgary at some point get a generational superstar? Calgary almost needs it at this point to start regrowing their fanbase, as I think it may be one of the smallest in the league at this point. That will change with a superstar, and/or winning. I guess we wills see what they do. I do believe the plan was to draft high this season. Flames worked too hard, just like they did in 2015. Hopefully they will also experience a down year like they did in 2016.
