But as it's been stated a million times already, what do you expect them to do?
Conroy traded every major UFA last year, he traded Markstrom and Mangiapane, he has 20M in cap space and didn't sign any major free agents that would make the team significantly better.
Expecting Conroy to try and gut the team when they were neck and neck for a playoff spot is ridiculous. If they were in the position they're in now? Yes, Conroy probably has a different mindset. And not selling doesn't mean he believed they could win the Cup this year.
Expecting Huska to diliberately make bad lineup decisions and the players to not play as hard is ridiculous too.
The team overachieved this season but this rebuild/retool has just started and they could go back to being the team they were expected to be and get a top 10 pick next season.
