I felt after their points percentage dropped out of the top 8 in the conference, playoffs became unlikely, especially given the heater that the Blues were on, and how unlikely the Wild would have to drop in order for the Flames to catch them. This loss puts the Flames further back, and they have Colorado next. Sucks for the 'worst case scenario' to have such a high chance of happening now, but it is what it is. No point in throwing in the towel at this point.

Vladar has been just as good as Wolf down the stretch. They would need to call up Ignatjew or someone, sit Weegar, Andersson, Kadri and Huberdeau, and outright embarrass themselves with a tank job to get into that bottom 10.

Just play out the season. Play hard, score some goals, entertain us. That's how I see it anyway.
Agreed there's no path to a top 10 pick now. The only option now is to try to win every game. They don't have the talent to go the 9-1 or 8-2 that it would require to make it in. So mushy middle is the inevitable result.

We accept that as fact. But we don't have to be happy about it.
