Gridin is an interesting case that deserves a closer look. Finishing 12th in the Q sounds pretty good, but he only played 56 games, and was actually 5th in PPG.
He started the season slowly, after switching leagues, posting 10 pts in 11 games. Since then, he has 69 pts in 45 games, a 1.53 PPG pace, which trails only Fauchon, who won the scoring race by 14 pts and finished at 1.61 PPG.
So 12th in the scoring race, but 5th in PPG, and 2nd in PPG, based on his numbers since the beginning of November.
I continue to believe that Gridin is the biggest sleeper in the Flames' prospect pool - much like Suniev was for a while.
