The annoying this is, last year I called before I went to Japan to inform them I would be using my card, that's me, please do not put any holds on purchases. I was literally told "you don't have to call in sir, that's not necessary".

Same type of thing happened to me in Hong Kong. I called to let them know I’d be traveling there and the mainland and they said “you didn’t need to call”. I booked some things in Hong Kong and they called me overnight (time change) to tell me that they suspended the card because of suspicious activity.
