I ride it every work day. Are there sleeping people? Yes. Sometimes drug use on the platform? Yes, I guess so. Saw one person get sick on the train last year, that's it. Fights? Never seen one in 15 years of riding. Never have seen defecation or urination on either a train or a platform.
The security people take people who are just riding back and forth for shelter off from time to time but they are pretty decent about it and I've never seen a fuss.
A lot of this is overblown or people have turned one bad experience into "this is how it always is". And a lot is just people who don't want to see homeless people around.
