The way the Church selects Popes is neat but I honestly couldn't really care less. I got dreadfully bored after about 45 minutes.

I'm a completionist, I usually finish the things I start, come Hell or High Water but a couple of times I felt my eyes start rolling into the back of my head on that one.
I mainly watched because of Ralph Fiennes - I was interested in how he would do in what I would think is a very challenging role as an actor (Pope).

Also mentioned the music score - I 100% felt it helped elevate some scenes from what would otherwise be extremely dull.

The original motion picture soundtrack for the film "Conclave" was composed by Volker Bertelmann, known for his work on "All Quiet on the Western Front," and features a unique soundscape that avoids traditional ecclesiastical or classical styles, instead employing instruments like the Cristal Baschet.
Overall though I sort of had the same reaction as you. I zoned out a couple of times in the middle part of the movie. My gut reaction rating was 6/10. You aren't missing much by not watching.
