Playoff Race Anxiety
Quote:
Another team with similar record as isles, which in my mind,,, lands the flames “as good at hockey” as the isles.
And as a result, it’s definitely a game to be won against a very mediocre team.
Just do it boys.

Here's the gameplan for today, only one word:
WIN

Quote:
i said it the other day and it bears repeating … if they no show today, i am really done with this team…and i mean it this time.

Scoronato Breaks the Ice
Quote:
well that's not a fun way to start
|
Quote:
I turned the game on a bit late and oh
|
Quote:
Brendan talks about Matt Coranato, he scores 30 seconds in lmao
|
Quote:
well … here comes the no show. awful turnover led directly to that goal
|
Quote:
Corranato, future islander.

Quote:
I shouldn't have cracked my second VooDoo. I still got about 7 more miles to go on the bike, but I couldn't resist because the trail get's super flowy until I hit my 2.5 mile street bike ride home. Hopefully I will get home by the middle of the first period and be pleasantly surprised. Let's Go Islanders!!!

No way he wasn't getting at least one today.

Scoronato with #2 on the night!
Quote:
thats just a good goal. damn.
|
Quote:
I hope Brendan does not mention Coronato does not have a Hattie on LI
|
Quote:
you could see that coming even if you were deaf and blind
|
Quote:
im at work what da hell man
|
Quote:
we are being outshot 3:1. also, our transition game is nonexistent this period
|
Quote:
The year is 2030 and the isles first line is amongst the best in the league.
Eiserman-Ritchie-Coronato

Butch is clueless —- that Puck was rolling and edge and C forward snapped it on net.

Someone flicked the switch. All Calgary now.
|
Quote:
A bad period by the Isles in the second, with Hogberg the only reason why the game remains tied after 40 minutes. I feel Fasching's chance late in the second walking in on Vladar was the best opportunity by the Isles.
|
Quote:
They looked pretty gassed for the second but it’s all to play for still.
|
Huberdeau’s Tying Goal
Quote:
Never seen anything more nailed on than Calgary scoring after we got the 3rd.
|
Quote:
Yeah, the way they tied it right after we went ahead, felt like it was their game.

Mom: "We got you a cake for your birthday!"
Me: "Yea!"
Mom: "It's carrot cake!"
Me: ""Uh, okay."
That's the 3rd period.

Just setting up another home OT winner
|
Quote:
Can we decide if we're comeback kids or chokers? Lol
|
Quote:
Decent point. Could use another. Will be a tough one to lose now…
|
Quote:
one thing the isles really can’t do is get themselves down low with the room to make a play. they really struggle just outside of the crease.
|
Kadri Schnipes it in OT!
Quote:
Nazem Kadri, former future Islander
|
Quote:
What the #### even is this team?
|
Quote:
Dobson was covering the slot right where the shot was taken, he just skated away like im too tired end this game pls take the shot here.
thats on dobson.
|
Quote:
So ####in weak. All 3 guys just watched it happen
|
Quote:
terrible goal to give up Hogberg has to stop that
|
Quote:
How tf did we not win this game
|
Quote:
What was Dobson doing on that goal? I guess he was gassed
|
Quote:
What the #### was that? All three guys staring at Kadri and leave hogberg out to dry???
|
Quote:
That was a weak goal hog gave up. That's gotta be saved
|
Quote:
Just stood there and let him walk down wtf
|
Quote:
Another bad loss. One of many
|
Quote:
Whew at least it didn’t go to the stupid shootout.
|
Quote:
Man Dobson just checks out at huge moments in the game. Brutal point to give up at this time of year…
|
Quote:
Tony D, My Brother In Christ, Please Play Defense
|
Quote:
All 3 of them looked like they could care less on that goal. They all watched…
|
Quote:
Another game with an opportunity to make a push for the playoffs and they flounder. Standard operating procedure unfortunately, and so was that game tying goal right after they took the lead followed by the OT breakdown.
|
Quote:
It's going to come down to the last week. Then you look back at games last fall that were won or lost and realize it's a long season but the math is the math and everygame is big in a season possibly decided by 1 point at the end.
|
Quote:
Gosh that was a weak goal all around. All three isles standing still Dobson moved away from the shooter.
|
Quote:
Dobson couldn't have played a worse OT there
|
Quote:
Even got his signature low-quality pads shot that goes right to the other team lmao
|
Quote:
That's what absolutely killed me, he just gave up possession the second we got it. Awful shot.
Then pucks kept jumping over his stick and then was caught out of position.
|
Quote:
IDC how tired you are Tony D has to at least make an attempt there.
Dobson sold the game flubbing that pass
|
Quote:
What's wrong with OT is that at near the end of the season...playing for at least a point becomes almost a given. Let the winner get 2 points and the loser zero.
|
Quote:
This was a highly winnable game.
On paper, that Calgary blueline without Weegar is one of the worst you're gonna see. And we once again got the "back-up" in net.
But they didn't take advantage of that.
The 2nd period was marred by poor puck and passing decisions, and several positional decisions as well. Where in all of God's great greeness was Pelech going on that 2nd Coronato goal? Everyone in the building knew a pass was coming, but Pelech was basically b-lining it straight to Dobson... Completely missed the boat there. And his obvious cross-check penalty while overzealously forechecking?... Not cool. Not cool at all.
After really poor games from Pageau and MacLean against Montreal, both played again this afternoon as if they were lacking condidence. MacLean's goal was big and may get him a bit straighter in his head but Pageau was, for my taste, mighty Badeau again today. He looks like he's just barely swimming. And it looks like he knows it.
Groin or no groin, if this is what Duclair is, I'll be shocked if we ever see a 15-15-30 season out of him on Long Island. Another 3 years to go. Yikes!
Right now, the guys I like seeing with the puck are Tsyplakov, DeAngelo, Holmstrom, Dobson, and Engvall. That's about it.
At least another point was collected. Gonna be a real hard game against CBJ on Monday.
