Oh man. I don't know why but that makes me really sad.
Perhaps it's because he started off as an angry young man, leading into the Rumble in the Jungle with Muhammad Ali, but then later in life he became this joyous person.
Now, he says it was because he had a spiritual awakening and became a born-again christian, but I have to think it's because he went down the path of hate and anger, and it only resulted in spiritual emptiness despite the financial windfalls. When he turned towards positivity, he reaped the benefits of seeing the good in the world and others, but then also made profit as well.
It's a lesson that we all should take. Do not despair, celebrate what you have but also those around you, and most importantly, don't sweat the small stuff. I don't care how he got there, just that he did.
RIP George. We will miss that famous smile.
