I’m worried about this game . Flames are desperate and playing for their playoff lives. They play a hard working style with a relentless forecheck . A style we are now forced to play almost with Jack and Hamilton out . Flames are used to playing this way , we are not . And Wolf in net has the ability to steal games himself . He has done it a few times this year . We will have to match their intensity and effort or it will be a long frustrating night . Go Devils !

We play the Flames today. Their PDO is 99.46 (21st in the league). Their team shooting percentage is 3.08% (last in the NHL). They do not score. Their goaltending is not elite. But they compete 100%. Smart in all 3 zones, especially in their own end. Their GAA/60 is 2.01, 4th in the league. Need to control the puck better, and just play smart hockey.

Don't get embarrassingly outworked/outplayed like the Rags did and if you decide to do that anyway. Hopefully Marky steals one. I have no shame in "goaliing" points away from teams! LGD LGMF!

Apparently Wolf is playing tonight. I figured they'd go to Vladar because he shut us out and won last game against the Rangers.

Wolf is very clearly the much better goaltender. A legit Calder Trophy finalist IMO.

I'm not sure about Vezina finalist, but probably deserves some votes beyond the top-3.

Wolf should get some Hart votes along with being a Calder finalist . He has single handedly carried the Flames the entire season.

Markstrom is in tonight? I don’t like that. Need to run with Allen until we get more distance. They are in a good position, but not good enough to be potentially throwing away games.

If Markstrom is healthy he likely wants to go against his former team, hopefully that gets him to dial in. We want a working tandem this time of season, and Markstrom has earned a little leeway in getting his game back up from his previous play.

Also, need a big rebound/revenge game from Markstrom. He loses tonight in a stinker performance and you virtually have to go to Allen for most of the games down the stretch

If Markstrom can't win against his old team I think he'll need psychological help. And turn it over to Jake Allen.

Third periods are becoming an issue. Is this a Keefe thing? Everyone collapses toward Marky when someone has the puck at the point. It's a terrible system.

It's not a system issue. When the Devils get possession they have to get it out. The issue is execution not scheme.

Ahhhh yes another third period playing as the NJ turtles.

Yeah their turtling in the third period needs to be studied. It'd be smart if it didn't feel like they were so on their heels the whole time. Kill off games by having more control of them, not turtling and praying on goaltending.

The last two 3rd periods have been really bad. This is clearly not working.

We were ''Turtling'' earlier in the year back in November and December, but that was very effective. We were rarely spending more than 30 seconds in our end at a time and the play didn't keep coming back into our end. And when it did it was quickly moved back out.

Dustin Wolf made the big saves and Markstrom let in the soft goals. That was the difference. What a monumental collapse! And if Tatar isn’t benched next game he never will be he was absolutely abysmal!

Markstrom can't play his old team. That sucks. He's played two bad games against Calgary this year. Might be in his head. Glad they're not playing them anymore. Also, Coleman just can't lose against his former team either. All super annoying.

I've been disgusted before this season but this one is the one that I'm most disgusted with tonight. 2 points left on the table when they had this game the entire way. Don't know what's happening in the 3rd lately but it clearly needs to be addressed.

What kills me is this is the 2nd game in a row they went into the prevent-the-win garbage in the 3rd. They play a great game then stop doing everything that got them there. The difference between this and CBJ is that Allen was great.

2 games in a row they sit back and try to run out the clock for 20 minutes in the third and who would've guessed that doesn't work!???

Just wanna say, if we can't handle the forechecking presssure of the lowest scoring team in the NHL, and give up 4 goals in the 3rd period, the Canes are going to eat us alive in the playoffs and make it a painful first round exit with a sweep that will have mostly blowouts against.

this might be the angriest I've been after a loss this year, you're up 2-0 AND DECIDE TO FALL THE #### ASLEEP, two unforced delay of games, they get one, Marky ####s the bed, its tied, Kova gives it right to them for the fourth goal. Unreal, unacceptable, I'm just disgusted.

This is where Keefe’s system is a negative. Teams know we’re not gonna try quick breakouts, which means they can be even more aggressive in their OZ.
And yeah, Markstrom has to make saves on goals 2 and 3. Time is running out for him to round into form.
