It's pretty bad as more Oilers representation amongst the youth. The organization has lost a lot of fans provincially since he took over. It's one of those things where you ask yourself. Are we just lucky we have a team and should be happy? Should we expect more than always being an also-ran? One of those organizations that never really accomplishes anything and nobody really cares about? I think the new arena will help for a bit but if the organization continues to be run the same way Edwards has always run it, I just don't see any light at the end of the tunnel.

Some folks probably remember the 80's where the Oilers were winning cups and the Flames had 1 finals trip in 86. The kids cheering for the Oilers outnumbered Flames fans like 5-1. Then in the 90's there was like one guy at UofC wearing a Flames hat over the course of 4 years. It was so rare I remember that.
Yes, we are lucky to have a team. Luckier to perhaps have revenue sharing that locks us in place.
But if you're looking for solace, it's that this team is run by Craig Conroy. There are new hands on the wheel, and if Iggy is actually part of the leadership group then hopefully Edwards is enough of a jock sniffer to listen.
