The right has just led the charge in sensationalizing politics. I think it's less of a right v left than it is a moderate v extremist issue. "Good immigration policy that keeps population levels rising to support capitalism is a good idea" doesn't sell as well as "They're stealing your jobs!!" There's a lot of "both sides" but the right wing social mediasphere has made a living from telling people the "left" are the only reason they aren't successful and rich. Rogan, Peterson, Shapiro are basically all selling the idea that greatness has been stolen from the right, and they need to steal it back from the left.
The truth of the situation imo is that corporate capture and corruption has stolen "greatness" from the people and they should be demanding more from their government as a whole. But its easier just to pit people against each other and let them tear each other apart while you sip fine whiskeys and watch.
