In my opinion, this story seems to be one misunderstanding after another. I'm also concerned that questioning whether something is racist or not should is deemed as a "failure to live up to your evolutionary standards" or being just another "euro." I questioned your statement and I really feel you have yet to prove that this is racism, but more your opinion. I'd hate to think that your opinion is biased by previous experiences that you could not look at this objectively. There seems to be no benefit of the doubt that the cop was actually just trying to do his job. He's just painted as a racist because he was dealing with band members.

All the other stories on this thread to me come off as racist behaviour except this one. I'm just trying to see exactly how you are so sure this cop acted in hate? I don't understand why are resulting to quasi-personal attacks. Anyway, this doesn't need to be a huge ordeal, I'll get off it, but IMHO, there just isn't enough from those reports to suggest that the police acted in a racist manner, and that should also be fine for someone to question.
I just ask myself this question. Do I think this cop would have acted the same way if it had been white people holding a parade, on their own property, no less? No way.

The other factor is the Natives have a long experience of being crapped on, and the cops have a long experience of doing the crapping. It's been inbred in the RCMPs culture, although they seem to be officially trying to change. Here, the natives show signs of pride in their community and what happens. It would drive a lot of people to drink.
