If the voting is split and the shows are split why aren't the liberal shows equally as successful as conservative ones? Because nobody wants to listen to a show where they are talked down to.

I don't know if this is completely true but I've seen some discussions which make two interesting claims on why right wing podcasts have more listeners than left. One point is that some right wing podcasts actually try to bring in left leaning figures which draws in some left leaning audience. The opposite is very rarely the case. The second point is somewhat related in that left leaning audiences are much more willing to entertain the right wing podcasts so that they can pick up on the talking points for whatever reason (learning or mocking or other purposes.) Right wing audiences won't waste their time and just wait for the best left podcast soundbites to filter their way.
