Fitting doesn't add to the prices, 100% recommend it.
The cost of the fitting alone is an added cost though.

Buying last years stock if you can find it is a great idea. The G430 vs the G440 for example are pretty much exactly the same.
If you can get a G430 max 10k at a good price, it's incredible for mid/high handicaps.

I did a Titleist fitting when I bought my irons and then went and bought the previous gen T200s. Also bought the G430max late in last season when it was reduced to about $599.
Paying nearly $900 for the new models is a luxury, not a need.

I'd recommend getting a fitting and paying for it.
Then take the specs and go shop last year's models for similar specs.
