Should have traded him last deadline, this past off-season, this past deadline.. so my vote goes to this upcoming off-season.

For the record, I love Andersson. Yes, he isn't having a great season so far, but it happens. I am sure he will rebound. I just think that the Flames need to do more 'rebuilding' and less 'long term signings'. That's where I have been at for a while. I 100% think his lack of production is a blip on the radar, and he is tasked with being the 'shutdown pair'. His blocked shots has probably increased dramatically (guessing here), and I do think he is still growing different attributes in his game. His offence will return, I have no doubt. I just think the right move long term is to move on. If the Flames were a 'win now' team over the next few years, I would argue that the smart move would be to keep him.

I will say this, however: Any devaluation of him as an asset from this past off-season to this coming off-season was worth the Tom Wilson incident. It is not that often I laugh that hard while watching a game. That was memorable stuff! He must be one of the best trash talkers in the entire NHL. I actually really love him. I just think this team needs to continue getting younger and avoid signing long-term retirement deals.
