Melbridge you're missing the point on this entire event. Yes, it causes more electricity to be used than the average July 7th, but in the long run events and campaigns like these will prove much more energy saving. To be honest, it's ridiculous for critics to suggest they shouldn't put together awareness campaigns because they pullute more than a place such as Afghanistan.

I'm not missing the point - what's ridiculous is to think that you need something like this to raise awareness and

Color me stupid but i am sure that most people who need to be aware, are aware, it gets rammed down our throats on a daily basis.
There is nothing funnier than listening to some dude on stage, sprout off about reducing CO2 levels with this event is contributing massively to the problem.
There are other ways to get the message across that won't contribute to the problem and well help in the future.
