Huska has not had a single season as a head coach in professional hockey with a win prcentage above .500. Not one. He has made the playoffs 1 out of 5 (soon to be 6) years. He gets the illusion of being an above .500 coach with lots of loser points.

To me this is exactly what his system is designed to do. All about trying not to make mistakes, don't take chances, never be out of position. The idea of pushing the play or doing something other than playing it super safe is not allowed. It's why we can't win in OT. It's why we constantly try to protect a 1 goal lead in the third and end up losing.

Huska is not a good coach. He's not a development coach, he's not a strategic coach. He's 100% about trying not to lose. To quote Shoresy, he doesn't hate to lose.

Flames have some talent in the pipeline, and keeping this guy around to coach them is a surefire way to either grind them down or force them out of the organization.
