It's not just a question of whether you are willing to fight and die, but are you willing to sacrifice the people close to you. Insurgency warfare typically comes with high civilian collateral damage. If a person or group or people are committed to that, you have to be willing to lose everything AND make that decision for everyone. It's one thing to say that you are willing to die for the cause, but another to say you would also sacrifice others.
