As much as I really like Parekh and what he's doing, he's still only a prospect and absolutely is not a lock to be even as good as Dahlin. Sure, there's a small chance Parekh becomes a better overall defender and a smaller chance he's the next Bobby Orr, but it's far from guaranteed.

Dahlin is already arguably the best defender in the NHL. Trading a blue chip prospect for him wouldn't be stupid.
If the Flames were 3 years ahead in their rebuild, I'd be down with this. But for now, no need to fast track whatever it is we're building, as we've barely begun laying the foundation.
