As much as I really like Parekh and what he's doing, he's still only a prospect and absolutely is not a lock to be even as good as Dahlin. Sure, there's a small chance Parekh becomes a better overall defender and a smaller chance he's the next Bobby Orr, but it's far from guaranteed.

Dahlin is already arguably the best defender in the NHL. Trading a blue chip prospect for him wouldn't be stupid.
0.75 PPG is not nearly a ppg player. Not to dismiss the other points - he is a great defender with a very high end two way game etc.

Parekh's ceiling may be Dahlin, sure, but looking at what he's already doing in juniors, he looks closer to a Makar / Hughes type.

An actual homegrown stud close to that level would be massive
