First of all, good for Jankowski to stick around. Rosters, team dynamics, management, injuries and a lot of things dictate if bubble players stick around, and he worked hard to keep playing.
Jankowski made this work in spite of the far too high pick and the pressure that came with it.
There was a reason that GM didn't work in any position in hockey for 4 years prior to his slithering his way into the Flames role, and, hasn't been anywhere near a NHL team in the 11+ years since being fired.
One of the Flames ownership groups biggest follies and probably biggest regrets.
