I can see trying to build a competitve culture I suppose. The longer they are in the hunt for the playoffs the more drive the vets will have.
But none of Kadri, Huberdeau, Andersson, or Coleman will be contributing when this team is good again. Feels like 3 of those guys could have earned us above average returns.

If you break that down:
Andersson: Yes. Could have been dealt. I think Conroy had a price and that price wasn't met.
Huberdeau: Contract i not moveable even with a better season. Not with that term and $$$
Kadri: Full trade protection. Doesn't want to go. Has settled down here
Coleman: Has a 10 team no trade list. Could be traded. Don't think the team wants to trade him.
So really its Andersson and Coleman. I think the math on both they will have other opportunities to trade them, so unless a high price was met, no point to it. I don't think they would have even tried with Coleman though. I think he's an excellent trade chip in his final year
