I don't know if I agree with that - the first round picks are okay but still one of them is in 2028 so while anything is possible that is a long way away and late first round draft picks don't have a huge amount of value on trade deadline it seems looking at the other trades that were made.
Stankoven could be good but he is an undersized offensive player who has put up 29 points in 59 games this year. He has potential to be a very good player but sort of reminds me a little bit of Matthew Lombardi, a good player but not an elite level of player.
They turned Necas and Drury into Stankoven, 2 firsts, 2 thirds and the ghost of Taylor Hall. It is good but a futures deal for a team that a month ago was in win now mode getting the biggest name available.

Sure but this was like plan C and they still came out okay after missing on what they wanted.
