The Johnston/Rantanen duo makes sense to me as imo Rantanen was very comfortable with a RH center in MacKinnon, looked off with a LH center in Aho. Or maybe I'm just reading way too much into it, but I could definitely see the Stars trying those 2 together anyways for a trial run.
