Flames are in a dilemma with Wolf getting too good too quickly. They finally get their potential franchise goalie in his prime, but that means they won't ever bottom out, but they won't be good enough to be contenders until they wait for prospects to pan out. But if you continue to trade away players for picks to be less competitive, how will that impact Wolf? Last thing we need is for him to turn into Gibson because the rest of the team sucks so much.
Do they start supplementing their core with UFAs to try to compete then?

I assume he will chase money for sure, but I doubt it’s at any cost.
Location will matter as well.
I don’t think Rantanen is the right player to add to our already aging core.
