When you look at what Anderson's next contract would be and what his age will be when he signs it. You do see why a team looks at Seth Jones and thinks 5 more years that costs us 7 million for a guy this age is not so bad. Less money and less term for a guy who could be as good and possibly better.
To be clear today's 29 year old going on 30 Anderson making his salary is better. But move forward 2 years...31 year old Anderson set to make 8.5 for 7 years vs 32 year old Jones set to make 7 for 4 more.
