If we look at Rasmus' production after the first month......trading him doesn't necessarily = tanking (half joking).
The big negatives outweigh the positives. Rasmus plays the position where our savior prospect (Parekh) plays and probably our highest potential AHL dman (Bru). We also have Weegar as the top pairing and Pachal on the 3rd pairing.
He is not very consistent and doesn't seem like the type of player that will age well.
His return should far outweigh his production/dollar after 30 yrs old.
His contract will be ugly once we are ready to genuinely compete (he will be 8MM at 32-33 years old and bordering no 4-5 Dman (Weegar, Bahl, Parekh I expect to be ahead of him - this is without additions).
