‘Teams’ sure, but we are talking specifically about the Flames right now.
Also, Necas is looking like an elite player. CAR had to give to get. I see that as supporting my point. Now that they have him, who else is obtainable that will help CAR more to win the cup this year than Rantanen? I bet they keep him.

Not sure what Makar has to do with it, but if you are referring to FA signings ask yourself if Flames are just one $15-16 million 2025 FA winger or one $18-20 million 2027 FA D man away from contending.
As others have said, building through the draft is no guarantee but it offers the best odds of avoiding the mess GMBT got himself in.
