The cable isn't rated for 675 .. officially it rated a 600w . Madness that's okay!.
Size dont mean much IMO. I don't mess with non waterblocked cards 75 c vs 50c is 2 and sometimes 3 boost bins you lose.
I don't know man. You say it's so much better than a 4090 yet you've limited the power ( 600 watts ) my 4090 gets to that over clocked so they should be even in pure rasterization since they are running same power on the same node. If your limiting a 5090 that much you got a 4090 with 8 to 10 percent more rasterization power. Non crippled it's on average 21% better. But ! You add frame gen x 4 it's as you describe.
You might be saying " You don't own a 5090 how can you make such claims!" Yes , that true but I do currently have several 4090s on hand and few 5090s that I validate builds as my second job at a pc enthusiasts shop/ local SI. If the 5090 crippled like yours was that much better than the 4090 ( minus the problems) I would no question replace all 5 systems we have at home with 5090s .
The fact I have to lame duck them to 4090s then turn on FG to make them "better" is what my hesitation is . If the solve all the issues in 6 to 8 months then all the machines will get them.
Again I may be confused but IMO what you've had to do just to be safe makes themn4090s with out frame gen.
Also please 675w is not max on the 12v cables . Thatsn75 watts out the pcie slot Plus 600W out the cable to equal 675W. The cable IS NOT RATED FOR 675 WATTS ALONE. 600W is the max these cables are rated for FULLNSTOP!
I'm not saying the 5090 isn't a n impressive card. It is but they are throwing more power at it then the cable can handle and plus the fg is is just visually bad.
If this card came with 5 or 6 pcie cables that needed to power it than so be it. That way they they could safely power it then fine. 600 watt rated cable yet every 5090 draws over that out the box . It's no longer user error on melting cables . They are supplying way to much power on last gen nodes to create more power. They are just providing oc ++ cards on cables that can't handle that power because we currently are stalled on what's possible on silicone avaliable to consumers.
AMD isn't making cards that can't compete with 90s/ titian class cards because they can't. They are not making cards that class because when you over clock current silicone that far past stability and heat limits you get this from nvidia. I owned 4 sli 970x , I've sli'ed 1080 ti, I sli'ed titans and the end of the pandemic I moved to a 4090 after having sli'ed 3090s.
Don't get me wrong I obviously am the in the crowd that nvidia is looking to sell a 5090 to. But with all the bs problems and a 75 to 100 % price hike worth 20 % performance non fg worth it? Not a ####i g chance.
Anyways , If your new card makes you happy then that's all that matters . Luckily your job covered 1000 dollars of the cost because the 5090 outside of msrp is almost 100% cost off a 4090 and 20 percent in games better out side a few outliers. Then again I di just justify putting g a 4070ti watercooled in my wife's rig from a 3080 10gb water cooled but it wasn't at a near 100% cost for 20% performance uptake. It was more same dollar for dollar for 2gb more and better dlssat an improved efficiency rate by alot. I bought the msi suprim 4070ti 8 months after launch for 1000.

Okay. Thank you for the feedback. I apologize that you took my comments so personally. I'm very happy you have a 4090. Please continue to enjoy it!
