I don't necessarily disagree. However with Carney you have to be weary of a few things. In my mind you can't on one side of the mouth declare Trump's presidency is the utmost existential threat to Canadian sovereignty at the same time have stuff like implementing a carbon tariff and other greenfare projects in your platform.
If this is really an existential moment for Canadian sovereignty, it's not the time nor place to prioritize climate action in any way ahead of commercial projects aimed at diversifying our trade, arming our military, and using emergency powers to build pipelines to diversify markets for oil and gas. We need to make it as a sovereign country to 2050 to be net zero in 2050. Carney's ability to put on the backburner essentially his post-BoC & BoE life's work for the sake of the country is really my barometer on his viability for my vote (which is up for grabs at this point for the right policies).
