If we want to trade for a young PPG+ #1 center, we're going to need to eat ALOT of risk. Teams don't give these players up unless there's an issue.
I don't know if the flames should do it. I guess like everything else it comes down to price.
If you could realistically get him fairly cheap, I think you take the risk.

Listening to a podcast earlier this week, there is some suspicion that Pettersen is dealing with a wrist and/or knee issue. Also worth noting that the Canucks training staff has come under scrutiny recently on how they deal with injuries.
Still seems to me that Pettersen’s commitment to getting stronger/training was a significant contributor in the rift with Miller. If that’s the case, it might not matter much which team he’s playing for.
Huge risk. Then again, it seems like this is the type of risk the Flames may need to take to get their hands on a 1C potential player. If this season is any indication, a top 5 pick seems unlikely especially with Wolf’s emergence.
