Looking at it, I think it might be a scorekeeper error. The guy who was named first star (0 points, 1 shot, -1) is #15 for the Rockets (same number as Lipinski). I think they got the player number right but screwed up the team.
Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit. This is hardly the first time the three stars in a CHL game have made no sense at all.
