Unfortunately, I disagree with this assessment. My agency fired all of of its probationary employees this week. We're probably going to have RIFs. The EOs are destroying so much of the infrastructure needed for modern governance and a modern civil service. Add all of this to the access that Musk is getting and the dangers that creates and it starts looking really bad.

But, what I think is the problem with the idea that we can make it to the midterms is that Trump is in the position of actor and the courts are reactive. So an injured party has to sue to have standing and then also has to find the right venue to sue. I think what we're going to see is that the judicial pushback takes too much time and gives the administration the window they need to truly break it all.
