I've actually worked on a project for several years involving earthquake susceptibility not far from there, so while I'm not a geologist, I'm not totally naive. The problem would be that as soon as you start generating earthquakes, you need to stop what you are doing and figure it out. And if you trigger large magnitude quakes, it's going to risk jeopardizing the project, given the proximity to Grand Prairie. Considering the size of what is planned, the existence of the largest historical earthquakes in the province should provide some cause for concern. Grand Prairie isn't all that far from Fox Creek, which you may have heard has had several induced seismic issues.
I guess my point is it sounds like they already decided on the solution without doing any of the necessary work. Like they plucked natural gas and CCS off the shelf of options in a board room.
